Haley Holmes

Hello, My Name Is...

<Haley Holmes>

Welcome to the 2017 – 2018 school year!

Haley Holmes is the name; teaching is the game. I spent the first half of my life in Garland before moving to East Texas in middle school and finishing my education in the town of White Oak. I went to Stephen F. Austin State University, where I first majored in history. History is a big passion of mine, and I would have stuck with it if I hadn’t run away screaming at the first sight of a research paper. By sophomore year, I was a mathematics major with a minor in statistics. In the spring of 2016, I managed to graduate SFA with a degree in mathematics. Working as a peer tutor at SFA helped me to realize that I belonged in a classroom and not behind a desk, which was where my math degree was originally taking me.

When not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, which includes my adorable doggo Goji. I like to read historical fiction, watch movies (especially disaster flicks and creature features), listen to music, and stalk Pinterest. I know this is going to be a great year, and I look forward to sharing that greatness with all of you. Shine On, Dragons!!!
