Dear NHS Parents,

Beginning Monday, January 25, 2016 NHS will operate on a slightly different bell schedule.  You may hear from your son or daughter that we are starting a “Mega Lunch” so we wanted to inform you as to what that means.

Mega Lunch has two main objectives.  First, it will be a time for all students to receive academic support through tutorials and/or interventions with their teachers and second, it will provide time for all students to get plugged into a student lead club or organization.  Both of these opportunities will now be available during the school day and we will no longer have to rely on students making plans to receive these types of supports before or after school.

The largest change for parents will be two things.  First, on Wednesday our classes will begin five (5) minutes earlier.  Therefore, the official time to start school each Wednesday will be 9:10am instead of 9:15am.   Second, if you need to deliver food during Mega Lunch for your son or daughter you may do so in front of the old gym.  This is the parking lot on the north side of campus between the 9th grade center and the fine arts building.  We refer to this parking lot as our bus loop.

For your convenience our new bell schedule that we will follow for the remainder of the school year is located on the back of this letter and on our website.  If you have any questions please contact me at 936-564-2466 Ext. 2224.
